What's going on with the ABM series? Over the past two or three days, I have noticed that several of the online retailers have dropped their prices significantly on Ashdown's ABM amps and cabs...

It's a good thing that I waited a while before ordering my head...

This is going to double their sales if they keep it up...

And, ironically enough, Behringer BX300T is down too....

Some people just can't stop copycatting....

I love my Mag300, and I don't mind that I spent about 20 bucks more to help out the local guy than save it online to some random e-Guitar Center clone.

I agree, but when it comes down to a 300 dollar difference plus another 75 dollars saved on sales tax on a $1100 amp...

Well, that's enough to turn me to the dark side....

    I mean, daddy's gotta eat!!

Since they started making them in Behringer's factory in China, they can afford to drop the prices.

The ABMs are also made in China now? I knew the MAGs were, but I thought the ABMs were handbuilt in the UK.

    edit: typo

It's just a reprise of an old jab. Can't blame a guy for trying.

    I almost shouted then... almost.

  12. Interesting...

Of course, one can speculate as to why they may have dropped the prices, but has anyone 'round here heard why?

Not that I'm complaining mind you...

The ABM cabs were waaaay overpriced in my opinion...

The heads weren't too bad if you found a good deal...

But now, It's pretty damn good...

An ABM 500 Evo II now costs the same as an Ampeg SVT pro 3...

Well as far as the cabinets go, Ashdown only just started making the current models in the middle of last year... I can't see them changing things so quickly... It also seems like the EVO II replaced the EVO not too long ago as well, although I don't have an actual date on that...
