I don't have any experience with this head, but I love my Ashdown MiBass

    Musician's Friend

Other Ashdown products on sale as well.

Not sure you are right about that price. Maybe it was the 500 watt version that you saw elsewhere?

Ok, I couldn't resist and I've been close to pulling the trigger on the RM-800 for between $500.00 to $600.00 on a few occasions. I'm sure that I will love the tone. Hopefully it will have some grunt to it as well. My thanks to the OP for the heads up. Happy Holidays to you!

Yeah I couldn't pass this deal up. I need an amp and have been looking around at different manufactures. I had an ashdown combo long time ago. It was a great amp. Looking forward to hearing this amp.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I think it comes with a carrying bag, though Musician's Friend couldn't confirm that. I will be finding out.

Heads up. The MF site now says that the amps will not be available until 12/31/2017. As for me, I'm waiting as I have other amps that I can use. At that price, it's worth it to me.

Yep I don't have an urgent need so I ordered one and we'll just see what happens. Don't think you can go wrong at that price. It's cheaper than the 500w version.

They moved the date until next year. I'm guessing we are in for a bit of a wait.

A little more than a week if that date holds. The question is, will it hold? :D

I'm sure you guys know this but:
Ashdown has been known for their ABM amps that have traditional power amps.
    The RM800 is a class D lightweight.
Not trying to start a conversation about the two amp designs but rather to inform those that didn't know.
I didn't until I checked the weight of the amp.

For those that have them coming, please post a review!
    Happy Holidays

I knew Jim and I've owned one of their class D offerings, a MiBass 2.0. The MiBass sounded sweet but was a little underpowered. That was a concern about the same thing with earlier Rootmaster amps. From what I understand, the power sections have been redesigned.....

The 500watt model reviews well. Really not a concern at this price and it's returnable.

I had the RM500 combo for a bit. I could get close to the same sound I get from my ABM 500. I had the MiBass 550 for a while too and although it had a good sound as well, the RM500 could really push the speakers and get some volume over the MiBass.
