Hi guys, I bought from musiciansfriend.com a fender pickup cover and bridge cover to go with my MIJ 75 reissue Jazz.

But the screw holes in my pickguard are spaced too narrow for the pickup cover. (I haven't recieved the bridge cover yet)

Are the MIJ basses a different size than the MIA ones were? Should I just change the pickguard? If I do, will the other holes line up?

I found this too, seems that the Japanese fender pickguards are different to the U.S. type.
I have a 63 reissue P (MIJ) - there are 13 screws holding the pickguard.
On the U.S. there are 12!
    I ordered a U.S. pickguard once - and no - it didn't line up!

Damn... So, now I guess I will have to get a JPN pickguard that does not have the pickup cover holes in it, then cut those manually.
