I am ordering a new 5-string pretty soon, probably Carvin since its the best I have found in the $1-$2000 price range. Anyway, I am highly considering getting an Asym neck on it but I just wanted to hear some feedback from you guys, concering the playability, feel, effect on your playing, etc. Thanks

Asym necks are no different from regular necks in my book: there are good ones and bad ones. I'd rather have a good symetrical neck than a bad asym neck any day, though I've also played several very nice asym necks too.

I'm not a huge fan of Carvins though, they aren't bad basses, in fact the low end ones are very nice for their price range, but I think for $2000 you could do way better, just depends what style you want. Warwick, Spector, Lakeland, lots of stuff available for two grand that blows away Carvin.
