For sale is a Baby Z PJ by Atelier, formerly the luthiers behind Sadowsky's wonderful Tokyo line. The PJs are pretty uncommon. The preamps on these basses are quite hissy and owners often pull them, as is the case with this unit: the polite pickups have been replaced with Seymour Duncan Hot pickups. The one weird thing about this bass is that it has been wired V/V/Master V for some reason, but it shouldn't be hard to put back. Battery compartment still there if you want to install another preamp, but it really doesn't need it. Use it to carry your ... aspirin! Excellent condition and plays perfectly. Very clean! Padded giggity bag included. $1100 shipped Canada or CONUS

These basses are all fascinating and uniquely good-looking!

Where does the Saulnier come from?

Coming from someone with such great taste in basses, that's a real compliment -- thank you. The Saulnier is from the Montreal area. For those who don't know, Quebec is home to many great, unsung luthiers well-known to their local music scenes. First time I've actually appreciated the pickup cover gimmick! Tonally, a real JPJ vibe with the tone cranked and some nice thump/dub rolled off. Better articulation than your average Precision-style bass.

Also selling. Peavey B-Quad in the very near future should anyone be after one of those. And then I will be out of boxes.

DO NOT sleep on the Florence people!!

Absolute dream to record and gig with.
It's THE "mudbucker" bass you want if you can't get along with an SG/EBO.
The mahogany is next level warm.

    GLWTS!!

I was shocked at how nicely both tone modes recorded live from the floor in a 3 piece. The late 60s EB-0 or Les Paul necks are probably the closest parallel in feel to the Florence. I do feel like the mahogany really makes a difference.
