Atelier Z's version of Serek Midwestern

That pickguard shape looks odd without a pickup in the right position.
the active atelier i had was stellar ... not in the market but would be scoping these for sure!
The Serek is itself inspired by the old Epiphone coronet guitars so it's not like they could really claim whole ownership of the idea. But yeah, that's pretty much as close to a copy of something in current production as you could get.

Ahh, I was unfamiliar with the Epiphone model, good call out!
If it means the Coronet shape is more readily available, I'm all for it!
Yeah most of his designs take their inspiration from old Gibson/epiphone, rickenbacker, guild, etc, body types.
I have a Lincoln, which always struck me as a blending of a gibson grabber and rickenbacker 4001 in terms of looks
The first electric guitar I had was an Epiphone Coronet (bought new in 1965). I'm shocked that I never thought of this before, but now I know why I like Serek's cosmetics.
Well, he did get the shape out of the Epiphone Newport.
And the headstock is from the Ric 3001.

I had a Serek MW. Beautiful bass, superbly crafted. Great sound and tone. I sold it because it was a short scale. I miss it, though.

Atelier Z is top shelf. I wish he'd put that . . . pickup . . . back where Serek did.
That Serek in the bottom photo looks like it was painted with house paint with a roller

There's a reason I love the Lincoln... That Grabber is a beauty!
I'd love a bass in this shape, but the Sereks are out of my price range. Still hoping Epiphone does some kind of new Coronet bass line.
First Serek I ever saw reminded me of my first, a Guild B301A.
Love the thumpy pup placement on the Atelier; would like to see some contour on the back tho.

lol I have a Gibson bass with that finish. I really dig it in person but I can see how it looks a little amateurish in photos. Dunable uses that type of finish on a lot of their instruments too.
