Does anyone know of a good doublebass teacher in the Atlanta area?

I've played Electric for about 15-16 years, and I've owned an upright for about 2 years. I've played it on a couple of tunes at gigs, and messed with it at home, but have never really given it the investment of time that it deserves.

It's time for that to change. I've got pretty good facility on the electric, but I hold little hope that it translates much to "the dark side."

    Anyone?

I'm going to check Bob Golihur's site, but any personal recommendations would be helpful.

Have you tried AIM? I don't know if they offer DB studies or not. There off I-85 N near Indian Trail Rd.

To find my teacher I asked a violinist I happened to know who played in the ballet orchestra for recommendations. You can start by calling local universities/orchestras or the musician's union. You will no doubt find several players who also take students. Good Luck
