Not sure if this is the right place for this thread so apologies in advance if not.

Two friends of mine are interested in hiring a very inexpensive (i.e. ~ $500) jazz band to play a fairly unconventional wedding at the Shakespeare Tavern. They are having a small wedding at their house (around ten people) but have invited all their friends (around fifty or so) to see a play at the tavern followed by general merriment. They'd love to have a band play at the tavern after the show but are somewhat short on dinero. This is not a traditional "wedding gig," so no chicken dance or that annoying train song. I think they just want cool jazz.

I have no idea what a "good" rate would be for such a show or what bands in the area might be interested.

    Any thoughts?
