Okay, I understand that the Audio Technica ATM-35 goosehead mic is an active one. But can it be powered alone by battery or is the 48V supply a nessecity? I was planning to use it with my SWR combo. Is this idea any good you?

I know that a microphone is far more prone to feedback, compared to a pickup. Is the ATM-35 more resistant than average?

According to the spec at it can be powered on battery alone. IME condenser mics use very little current and you can expect the battery to last quite a while, so I wouldn't worry about phantom power. They say "1000 hours typical"

It's a cardiod mic so it can be less prone to feedback than an omnidirectional mic, but you still have to worry about where you point it as well as other room variables.

    Thanks for the fast reply!

Is this mic suited to be connected to the SWR amp directly? I've heard all this talk about hi/lo impedance devices.

What devices are suited to be connected to the amps regular input, and what are suited for the effect loop input?
