I like all of these pedals based on clips posted here and the bassfuzz site. My question to users, plain and simple - do you feel the Attack Goat and Supercollider have a sound difference that warrants the price difference and wait time?

I'm ready for a fuzz pedal, but also plan to add another $150 overdrive, pedalboard, and new amp this year and want to make sure I'm not spending more than I need to!

If you want a Muff-y fuzz for bass then just get the BBM, you can't go wrong.

But if you are seriously considering Muff-a-likes from boutique builders, give the Pickle Pie B some consideration. I'm not sure what the production delay is for those right now (it was about two months when I bought one earlier this year) but it's a well-designed pedal - you can either have lots of low end in your fuzz, or make it fizzier and blend in some clean signal to preserve your low end, and both approaches produce good sounds.

  3. just get the bass big muff. it is really versatile. you can always add more fuzz later but the BBM will make you VERY happy in the meantime.

Well, about the BBM (sounds dirty for some reason...), but I do know that the AG is an octave up type fuzz (or something similar). Very sizzly IME. The Supercollider seems to be more a "wall of sound" crush you to a pulp type thing.

However, if one were looking for a Muff-type fuzz...

    DOD Bass Grunge

I tried the BBM recently, and my old DOD Bass Grunge still crushes it.

  9. I guess that pretty close for the Supercollider - but I've found it depends on what signal you feed the SC.
If you run an EQ pedal with LOTS of highs and mids, the SC will behave a fair bit differently, as the mid, tone and depth controls will seem to have a lot more versatility.
But of course no matter how you set the SC, it'll always sustain for days.....

    weeks.......

    months......

attack goat and bass muff sound completely different to my ears (but ive never owned a BBM)

the attack goat in my rig with my settings has a very synthy type sound when used solo but in a band context it feels like it gets more subtle and smooth

this is the only attack goat recording i have, but i might as well plug my band :p
used the goat on all the main riffs

    Groove is in the heart!!!
i love my Supercollider (small version with mid knob). since i started collecting and selling pedals, its the only one left from that era. totally different sounding than the attack goat. my mini SC is more muff-ish and has plenty of huge low end balls!!! i had an attack goat for few days, its good but not my cup of tea. sold it right away, too synthy for me.

I HAVE A SUPERCOLLIDER AND ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.......but when customer service fails....i feel differently about the pedal.
