  2. I've got one that I'm considering selling, as it's not responding to flatwounds as I hoped it would. Check my review at for details. Email is basic4 at hotmail dot com.
  3. Very cool, Jeff, thanks. :)

KungFu, I own a Casady, but have never played the Gibson model. From a review I read a while ago, and from many posts with a member here that has owned both basses, it seems that the Gibson was a better constructed bass, but the pickup didn't have the sparkle of the Casady. I've used both flats and rounds on mine, and they both sounded good. The flats gave it a very upright-like vibe.

    Good luck selling her.

  4. MikeyMike,
The Gibson is definitely built better, no question about it. Mine had some, ahem, surgery before I bought it, and has been left with a high-impedence DiMarzio setup. It'd do fine strung with rounds--cut, thud, growl, etc.--but I bought it in hopes it could be made to sound like the Guild Starfire I once had. It doesn't, more its own animal than anything.
