    Calling all QSC amp owners.............

Have any of you guys had any problems with running the RMX series amps bridged into a 4 ohm load for long periods of time ??

    Musician's F&#%@ has the rmx 850 for $299.
When bridged @ 4 ohms it says 830 watts.

The closest thing in power(wattage) in a stereo configuration is the PLX 3002 which says 900 watts @ 4 ohms stereo. That one is $999.

Why not buy 2 of the RMX 850's for roughly $600, run them bridged, and have 830 watts per channel (so to speak)??

Does this make sense to anyone besides me ??

Our mains are 4 ohm Peavey sp4's which are rated at 750 watts.
I realize that the power ratings are probably with the power turned all the way up, but, with 830 watts surely 3/4ths volume should be plenty.

I paid for all my gear myself. Well, me and MasterCard.
Heck, just get an RMX 2450 @ 750 W into 4 ohms per channel. Then you can still add another pair of speakers later to get that amp's full power of 1200 W/channel @ 2 ohms! It'd be cheaper and more portable than a pair of RMX 850s too.

Oh, and you can do better on QSC pricing than MF. Lots better. Check with Lord Valve. I'm not a shill, just a happy cheapskate... uh, customer.

I have a QSC PLX1602 (does that complete the lineup?) 1600 watts bridged into 4 ohms. 21 lbs. Price from Lord Valve less than two RMX850's.

QSC recently cut their prices. You can get a RMX2450 for $600. It runs 750 per side @ 4 ohms or 2400 watts bridged @ 4ohms. I've been using mine for 2 years with no problems what so ever. The weight is about 41 pounds.
