Are the MFD P-pup's the same dimensions, size wise, as traditional P-pups?

I think so - there's one person on the G&LDP that has used an MFD split-coil to replace a P-pickup on another bass and I've never seen a mention of any routing required to do so. I'll have another P-style bass Monday so if I remember I'll get out the ruler and compare it to my SB-2.

  3. Dimensions are the same.

I did not check height but I'm sure it's the same.....

Why do you want to change them ?

I mean, I can sorta see wanting to maybe go active or something. But they're so good, why bother? My SB-1 is hands down one of the best basses I've played, or heard. It's so... perfect.

Personally, what I'd love to see would be a L2000 preamp in an SB-2. That would rock the hizzy.

I dont want to change them. I was just curious...I am thinking of building a project P-bass soon and it would be cool to have a single MFD P in there.
