Attn. John Turner, RE: your Switchblade

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Speedbird, Aug 5, 2001.

  1. I that "switchblade" unit in your rack the same thing I saw reviewed in a magazine somewhere? (a device that switches multiple effects in preprogramed patches via footswitch) If so where did you get it and how much? I recall the review had a $1K+ price tag. Does it effect or squash the signal? Any details would be much appreciated.

yeah, that thread i talk about it some.

it was reviewed about a year or so ago by bass player magazine - it has very little effect on the sound, it works really REALLY well. i got the GL unit, it cost ~$1750, direct from the manufacturer. their web site is...

they sell direct, and they have an 8x8 channel model available for less than $800. my unit is great. you program the patches via this program called winblade, it enables you to set up your routing pathways via a graphical interface, with icons for each piece of gear. it works really well.
  3. Thanks for the reply, 1.7K is just way out of my ball park but the $800 number might be possible some day. I also thought of calling Hary Kolbe. His site [http://www.soundsmith.com] advertises the ability to create something like that but no details.
