I convert 4 string Rickenbackers to 5 string basses.
It should be quiet ... check the wiring .... also try shielding

I use Audere 4 band preamps in several basses.

No, no issues with noise. I have the Audere JZ6D Jazz plate in my Carvin SB5000, and it works wonderfully. And dead quiet... :meh:

Mine is a little noisy as well. It is noticeable when playing low volumes at home. Does not seem noticeable when playing in a band situation. I have single coil pick ups, not sure if that makes a difference.

Check grounding and shield the control cavity.

Those are single coil pickups ... single coil pickups hum.
