If im not mistaken Dixie Dave played bass on that album, but he seems to be everywhere. I mean who can say they have a beeter rep than playin bass for Weedeater, Buzzoven, Hail!Hornet, Bongzilla... That dude rocks.

And Ron's rig is ridiculous. That emporer 415 is nuts. Bongripper is so awesome.

That he does, He's played bass for some great bands.

Rons rig IS ridiculous. 415 is just madness. The lows that thing must produce. My lord. Crazy.

My rig is so weak in comparison, If I played in a doom band, I would have something better, But no one in my town will play doom/sludge/stoner. Hurtin.

I loved that album by Kalas. It is a shame they didnt do more but Im sure Matt Pike is pretty busy with all the recognition with High on Fire. awesome album though.

I saw em in Memphis with Rwake and Saviors and got to sit with Jeff Matz and drink beers and just talk bull****. Real nice guy.

on second listen, this is reaaaaaallly good. vocals are harsh, reminds me of mike from Eyehategod. i definitely can hear grief there, too. what are your guitarists using amp-wise?

Holy poop do I love Acid Bath. Some of the most frightening music in my collection. Audie's lines were great. Since Ufomammut, Electric Wizard, and Rwake have already been mentioned, I say those of this thread should listen to Old Man Gloom, Pale Divine, Solace, and Skepticism.

Also if you want something that I consider as scary as Acid Bath, but of a wholly different genre, listen to Blut Aus Nord and Farsot. I know Acid Bath have little aural relation to black metal, but to me the creepiness factor reigns supreme, holding them tightly to some such acts. Also, and this is a larger stretch, but fans of this type of stuff might also enjoy maudlin of the Well.

Wow this brings back memories! I got the chance to see Acid Bath once back in 96 at a shrimp festival when I was 12, three years before I got my first bass. They're still worshipped in the swamps of Louisiana. Don't listen to that style much anymore but great band. R.I.P. Audie. I saw Dax with Deadboy two years ago and he was brilliant.

One guitar uses a sunn model T with a sunn 415 and sunn 215
Other guitar uses a couple of bassman's with a bassman 215 and couple of sovtek 412's
