    I currently have this: Denon AVR1803: https://www.amazon.com/Denon-AVR-1803-receiver-Digital-DTS-ES/dp/B009GESBCU

But am looking at replacing it with this: Denon AVRS530BT

I don't need the 4k stuff since I dont own a 4k tv and am really not interested in one, I am mainly interested in the bluetooth capability.

I know my current receiver is probably 15 years old at this point, how much "better" or more capable is this newer one (the one i have now was probably twice the cost of this new one when I bought it).

Doesn't matter what you're interested; within a year or two it will be impossible to buy a TV that isn't 4K ...and then if everything else you own isn't 4k (...and HDR ...and HDCP 2.2 ...etc etc) compliant, you won't be getting the best possible performance from your entire system. Which is to say, it may actually look worse than if none of it was 4k.
The consumer A/V industry evolves for a variety of reasons, but one of them is definitely planned obsolescence. :::angryface:::
