Audio Or Linear?

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by Woofenstein, Oct 3, 2004.

  1. I'm going to be taking the active tone circuit out of my Peavey Fury and put in a passive Vol/Vol/Tone setup. Can I just buy three audio pots or do I need linear for any of the controls? Thanks!

    FWIW:

Volume are typically audio and tone linear but I've seen (EMG's in particular, but others also in both passive and active basses) with all audio pots. And I've got a new Carvin pot still in the package marked : volume - 500k linear. It's not going to damage anything by using either one so you can try it and judge for youself.

  4. Yeah - I've noticed that Fender puts all audio pots in their basses, so it shouldn't be a big deal to get all audio pots! We'll see how it goes!
