    Hello,
    I have 2 Avatar 210's, 8ohms, excellent condition. I'm looking for a trade for 2 Avatar 210's, 4ohms. These are the 2003 models. Anybody?

You might try calling Dave @ Avatar. He can make you a deal on 8 ohm drivers and then you can Ebay the old ones. I did the same thing with a B212 cab only I still have the 16 ohm speakers in case I decide to go back.

I might also be interested in one of your cabs. Did you use the 2 - 2x10s together like a split 4x10? How did that sound? I've got one B210 and was thinking of doing that.

I use the 2 210's like a split 410. It has worked out really well. I like the portability of having 2 separate, smaller cabs. I also like the flexibility of being able to take one of the 210's, if situation doesn't need that much power.

How much did you buy the drivers for (if you don't mind me asking) from Dave? He hooked me up when I bought the second 210 from him. If it is reasonable, I would probably do that. Maybe I should just pick up another 210 that is 4 ohms. My new head will only push 4 or 2 ohms, unlike the head that I'm using now, which will push 2, 4, or 8 ohms.

I don't remember the price on the 12s but I'm sure the 10s would be cheaper. Dave has incredible prices on Eminence drivers.

How are the lows when you run both cabs? My B210 on its own is a little shy on the bottom.

It sounds like adding a 4 ohm cab would solve your problem and be a lot easier than swapping speakers.

True. I wouldn't mind maybe adding a 1x15 to my setup though. If I could find a light one around the same weight as the 2x10's I have now. I would get the c115 from avatar, but the dimensions don't add up! The 210 is a little weak on the bottom, but my amp does put out A LOT of bass!

drd, what kind of amp are you running? When you use both 210s does it just sound like 1 - 210 only louder, or do they couple to make a much bigger sounding rig?

I'm running a fender bassman 300. It sounds like a 410 to me, not just the single 210 sound. Are you looking for a similar rig?

Was thinking of adding another 210 to make split 410.

The split 210's have worked for me. Sounds good to my ear. If you already have one 210, try adding another. If you don't want to make such a cash investment without hearing how it sounds first, pick up another 210 at GC. Try it out and see what you think. You have a 30 day return period. Just make sure you return it, if you don't like it or if you can get a better deal, before the 30 days is up!
