    Ok, quick (hopefully) question:

What was Avatar loading their 212 cabinets with 3 years ago? I believe this was before the Neos. I'm trying to make a quick (meaning this afternoon) decision between a used Neo and a used non (I think)-Neo. Both in great shape, cost isn't a problem either way.

It will be powered by a Crown XTi 1000 in bridge mode underneath my Avatar 410, so I've got more than enough power.

    Thanks,

    -Mark

Eminence Deltas. Don't recall the exact model number. But they were ceramic drivers - not Neos...

    Thanks for the fast response!

I'm thinking the Delta LF's then...any idea on tonal difference?

  4. Not sure about any tonal difference, but the Delta LF's are rated at 500 watss EACH, for a total of 1,000 watts for the cab.

The newer neo cab is only rated at 500 watts.

I purchased one new from Dave a few months ago and asked him to give me the Delta LF's instead of the Neo's for the extra power handling.

If weight is not an issue, I would take the older cab.

I haven't actually heard them. Best I can do is share a post I read here yesterday, wherein a player commented that Dave's newer Neo 12" LFs go nearly as deep as the original Deltas. From what I've gathered, the earlier generation of 12" Neos were noticeably more midrangey - not so deep.

If you opt for the Neos - and definitely want maximum low end - make sure the cab has the latest generation of Neos - the LFs. Otherwise, definitely get the cab with the Deltas...

I owned a delta cab and it wasn't that heavey. I schleped it from a 3rd story apartment with no problems. Really loud and low.
