Avatar B410 with Celestion Ceramic Speakers

  1. I actually just won an auction for a b410 on ebay. I didn't realize that it was the model with the Celestion ceramic speakers. I couldn't find any info on this model. Does anyone here have any experience with this model? I'm upgrading from a lower end Hartke 2x15 cab. Also, if it's rated at 800W do I need to be concerned while running a gk 1001 rbII through it? That's rated at 750W. The cab is 4ohm.
  2. You should be fine!
I use to have 2 of these cabs. I bridge my QSC PLX 1602 amp @1600w into one of these for extra headroom.
I believe the cab is rated at 1400w peak.
They have a deeper tuning than most cabs I've heard.

If you hear the cab farting out, just back down the low frequency.
One heavy cab but it can hold its own at loud band situations.

The OP should realize that the power rating of a cabinet is it's thermal rating. In use in the real world the cabinet can utilize about half of that rating before running out of excursion and damaging the drivers. Listen with you ears and, if the cabinet sounds as if it is in pain, turn down!
