So I have been looking to see what cab to look into and I am stuck between two. The 212 and the 210, I have heard 12's are not so great for bass cabs, is this true? A little mark is what I am for sure going to be using for the head in case you where curious. Cause the 210 used goes for like $200 used and the 212 is only like $50 more. Any Recommendations? :help:

I love my 210, but its not enough by itself, especially in 8 ohm..

Why not get a 410, best of both worlds, and in 4 ohm should get you everything you need plus some.

I say the 212 if not both.

  4. 12's are just fine for bass. I bought a B212 for my church and loved it so much I bought one for myself. Avatars are good cabs.

I run a Fender Bassman 1200 pro through an avatar 1x12... unless you're playing mushy super loud death grind blood core metal, it's more than enough for most anything. Plenty of low end from it as well. If you have a 500watt little mark, you may need the 2x12 though... i'm not sure. What kind of music are you planning on using the rig for?

The 212 would be perfect for you. Avatar cabs are all good. Any will do, but that 212 would be about a perfect match for that amp IMHO.

  9. Go for the 2x12 first if you can...I LOVE my 2x10s but I'm adding on 2x12s ASAP

The 212 can stand alone, the 210 can't in most situations.

I play a lot of metal, ambient, and instrumental music. I am a guy in bands so the more my bass spreads the better. And I guess the 12's inch is bad was just bad advice.

    ^^^

I think in the end it's about the sound between 2x12 or 6x10, of any cab type and matching ohms. What do you want? Think about the actual sound you want. For real life you will need that 2x12 over a 2x10, guaranteed. Get a 4ohm avatar 212 for the LM, you will enjoy....Some people have the 15s. 12s and 10s are for me. I think those are both "signature" bass sound combos, and a great excuse to have both.

I agree, I think in the long run the 212 will be a smarter choice. Then maybe add a 210 or another 212.:hyper:

  14. That's my church rig right there.

And keep the ohms in mind. If you want two cabs, get 8 ohms.

    12's are great for Bass.

I have a 4ohm 410 Avatar that sounds good with the MB LMIII driving it. Plenty of headroom.

I also just order an Avatar 112 in 8ohm for rehersals and smaller gigs.

410 or 212, can't go wrong. And it is nice to see the Tolex with different colored cloths now...wow, great look.

Well right now I am playing a Ampeg ba112, so I figured that would enough for my practice amp.

My 2x12 neol lf powered by my LMII takes care of all small venues in my experience but I don't play loud metal.
You should go to the Avatar club thread where guys with names like Metalbob have a 2x12 and a 4x10 they are runnin at the same time!

Get two 210s; stack vertically; enjoy.
