How come an Avatar 2x10 is rated at 700watts while most other cabs, good cabs mind you, from well known brands, at best, take 400-500watts? Are they underrated for safety, or is Avatar using better speakers than say, Ampeg? (no bashing intended)
  2. Not necesarily better, but the speakers they use handle more power than anything else i've seen. It's the delta 10s. they can handle alot.

The Delta 10's are awesome speakers, thats why. 350watts a peice. 350+350=700watts. Simple...just the speakers.
  4. last time I checked 350 watts plus 350 watts equaled 800 watts you moron.

I've recently bought the Avatar b410, which is powered by a GK 1001rb running at 540watts...it handles it beautifully!

I do know for a fact that ampeg uses some pretty crappy speakers on their lower end cabs. The ones that are not pro cabs...i called them and asked them about it before. I was like dang i spent all this money on this cab and dont even get american speakers :(
