Welcome back, BH. Haven't seen you in a while.

You realize, of course, that there are a lot of great basses under 1K, right? I mean Reverend, Carvin and if you look hard enough, Music Man basses can be had for that kind of money. What was it about the Ergodynes that got you so stoked about them?

it sounded and felt better than any of those and it looks cool as hell.

well music man is better, but these ibanez' are like 400-500 bucks!

you can also get an SWR WM15 for yr grand and have a killer rig.

even though i dont own one i think warwick is the best when it comes to basses. they have the best sound. but when your looking for under 1k ibanez is the way to go

  9. MIA Fender jazz under 1,000? Yes

eh. not for a first bass. and to get the jazz bass sounding as sweet as you think it can you have to modify it.

i mean dont get me wrong i own and love my MIA jazz but ti is not there yet off the shelf.

  12. An Ibanez man, very good! Bassheavy, if you like those Ergos, and why not, make sure you try the new EDA900 or 905. These are the new wild looking ones with the piezo pickups in the bridge. Also, if I can persuade you away from the Ergos, check out the BTBs. They're all great. Don't let that wide neck scare you away; you'll get used to it and love it faster than you think.

it also depends on the sound you want. if you want a more rock tone you get a more meaty bass like ibanez but if you want a more subtle smooth sound you get a fender. ive never really liked the look of fenders, an ergodyne or soundgear looks pretty intimidating
