So I bought this killer Bossa bass. While looking at the models avail (on, I noticed that my bass has the body from one model (BUS) and the headstock from another (UJB). So I contacted the builder to ask why and he told me that he remembered building mine because it was a special order for Rhonda Smith, bassist for Prince and Jeff Beck. He said that it's a total one-off and that there are no others like it. I didn't even know that when I bought the bass. Pretty cool eh?

Nice! Cool to have a bass with some history too.

Do you still have the older Bossa with the trem?

Tinted spalted body with matching headstock is just too yummy for words. All that and history too! I'd be seriously jealous if that bass weren't missing a string or two.

enjoy that thing, my man. It's not often that one runs into a bass with history and vibe like that. It's a beauty with a great story! Play it well

Thanks all. I was shock when I found out the history. I had no idea about that history when I bought the bass. Cool that worked out that way!

How do Bossas compare to Fbass? They are similar in construction with the tops with matching wooden pickup covers and attention to detail, but sound wise, how do they sound?
  19. You have possibly my concept of a dream Jazz bass.

    Stunning, absolutely stunning.
