Hola muchachos, Ok, I'm done with Spanish. Anyway... I had my first bass lesson, and my teacher gave me some things to practice on at home. The problem is, I don't know how to practice it... I have some pages of arpeggios to learn, but I just don't get it. http://i967.photobucket.com/albums/ae157/hudsonnkh/arpeggio1.jpg http://i967.photobucket.com/albums/ae157/hudsonnkh/arpeggio2.jpg Can anyone tell me how to play these?
First thing is those are tabs, which means you need to find a different teacher, one who can actually read music. Second, if your teacher didn't explain to you how to do the exercises, then he really fails as a teacher. Third, we have a forum dedicated to general instruction, and a forum dedicated to tabs, and a forum dedicated to technique. As far as how to play arpeggios, all an arpeggio is is a string of notes that you repeat (typically). So play the notes in order, then repeat. Play them with consistency of tone, volume, and timing. Use a metronome or drum machine.
