I like to experiment with strings and mix n' match sets since it's an inexpensive but effective way to alter your sound. I read an article in the last Bass Player's "Bass Gear" publication that mentioned B's go up to .145. The largest I have ever encountered are Thomastik-Infield's .136. Have you ever heard of a manufacturer of these suspension bridge cables ?

Yep, almost ordered one that size (for the hell of it) from D'addario. Pretty cool.

If you put a .150 string on your bass, you'd better have a Friehaus seismic isolation bridge on it, so the vibrations aren't transmitted to the ground. These strings vibrate at the exact resonant frequency of a two-story wood-frame structure, and the building you're in could collapse.
