This girl that I have been communicating with for over a year via AOL, wants to sell me a B.C. Rich Bich for $50. She claims that she paid almost $2500 for it brand new. I told her I would think about it and she got all nasty with me -- "What do you have to think about? It's a B.C. Rich! It's a $2300 guitar, dumbass!" I believe there is something fishy going on in the state of Texas. Just thought you'd all like to know.
BC Rich has made many versions of this guitar over the years, ranging from the NJ series to handmade, custom shop jobs with 10 strings and fancy electronics. If it's one of the custom shop jobs, it could have cost that much. But if it did, and she is selling it for $50, either the neck has been broken and repaired, she really likes you a lot, or she is crazy.
She's using AOL.. 'nuf said heheh.. just kidding.. i'd advice you NOT to do it.. BC Rich aren't very good basses, and i doubt anyone who bought a $ 2500 bass will EVER sell it for $ 50.. i think she's just trying to get some $$$ from you..
allodox it's not possible to say that a brand makes not good basses when this brand has done basses all over the world with different specs such as bc rich did and still does. i played an old american BC rich eagle and it was amazing!! i consider someone who sells a bass at 50$ claiming a value of 2000$ stupid. don't buy that bass. or buy it and prepare yourself to see a mostrosity...
Well this is just my personal opinion - but you would have to pay me to play any BC Rich bass or guitar! Even so, I don't think I would get over the embarassment.
The whole story goes like this: I have been chatting with this girl for over a year. We have chatted online and talked on the phone. I would consider her a friend, but I know that she is a bit psycho and a bit of a bullsh*tter. The other day, she e-mailed me and asked if I knew the exact name for the type of guitar stand that holds your guitar in a playing position, so one could alternate between playing an acoustic and an electric guitar. I sent her some links to some sites that sell those types of stands. She was online later that night, so I asked her if she got the links and if they helped her. She informed me that her "boyfriend" was there, so I should "be careful" about what we talk about and how we talked. Then she tells me that she needed the stand for a band that she used to manage and that just got signed to Arista records. Obviously, my question was, "Why does a band that just got signed by Arista need their ex-manager to find a guitar stand for them?" Then, she starts asking me if I want to buy this guitar from her. All she can tell me is that it's a B.C. Rich Bich and she paid $2300 for it brand new. She will sell it to me for $50, plus shipping. I question the fact that she has never mentioned this guitar in the past and the fact that she should have no problem selling it where she lives and all-of-a-sudden, she starts calling me "dumbass" and "idiot." My first thought was that her "boyfriend" had taken over and was trying to intimidate me. I don't know what to do about the situation, but I do know that I am not going to take the chance on buying something that is supposedly worth that much money for a mere 50 bucks -- especially when she is not even willing to take a simple picture of it for me first. I am about to e-mail her and tell her that our "friendship" is off, that I don't need to be talked to like that and that her boyfriend can take her Bich and stick it straight up her candy a*s! I know -- this whole thing reads like a soap opera...
