I'm currently looking into a new bass and have heard over and over again that Laklands are some of the best value that you can get, but I played a fender 60's p bass today that was very nice, so i was wondering your opinions on Lakland vs. brands such as fender, G&L, warwick, anything else in that general price range ($600-700 american, i would get a 44-01 skyline).

Also, the only retail store that sells Lakland that i can get to is charging about $1000 (Canadian $)for the 44-01 skyline, is this too much? I found a sight online that charges about $850 (Canadian $), is that good?

Finally, should i go for a 44-01 new or a 44-02 used? I have looked and they cost about the same, so how does lakland hold up in the test of time?

Bold when unread by you, regular when read by you. Works great!
