as long as i saw an ampeg problem thought id post one of my own. Its not really a problem im just not sure what im doing wrong. I had an hartke 7000 and it was plenty loud with a 8 ohm hartke 4x10 and a 4ohm swr 2x10. Im plugging the cabs in the same way with the ampeg and its just not putting out much volume. Im not sure what im doing wrong. Has anyone else faced this problem or can anyone help me?

Check your settings on the back and see if you are running in Stereo or Mono and be sure that you are not running Bi-Amp instead of Full Range.. If you are in stereo, you are not using all the available power of the head.

I use this head, and when run in Mono Bridged mode, there is gobs of power to handle your needs.

Go to www.ampeg.com and download the B4R manual. It will show you what settings you need for your cabinets.

    Good Luck.
