Got a chance to play a modern style chick country gig thru a GK 1001 and GK 410 cab tonight ....man, i like that flavor better than ampeg...brings out the growl of my Wick Corvette .....

i've only been gigging bass for a year sinse i started broadening out as guitar player .....i bought a fender rumble to get started in the bars but it takes a while to work around the higher end stuff to find what works for you.

i feel some stinky gas welling up inside! :hyper:

  2. Those GK's got a nice warm bottom end. I like how they sound when playing with a pick too.

I don't know how your used market is where you live but the Backline 600 and the RB 400 are great amps for the money and can be picked up fairly cheap and are all GK in the tone department. Get one of those and then work your way up for a nice GK Cab that'll stick around for head upgrades in the future.

Sammy, welcome to the club, buddy. My Backline 600 is one of my fav heads of all time. First time I played through a GK head was like the first time I hopped on a Sportster. "Wow. So that's what the fuss is all about."
