Backup for my thumb

I currently own a warwick thumb bo and I love it, but I need some sort of backup for when the thumb is in the shop or whatever. Now I really like the feel of warwick neck. So I'd probably like anther warwick (is there any other bass with a similar neck?). Another thumb would be kinda boring. Plus it would be nice to have a sound I can't get from the thumb. And I don't want to spend too much as it is just a backup but I also don't want anything too cheaply built. So what would give me a sound not found on a thumb (keeping the tone warm) with a thumb feel and cost me less than $1000us?
  2. Try one of the Rockbass variants: All the Warwick feel that you love, without the boutique price, and a sound that BP mag likes, so it can't be that bad. Peavey, Ibanez and Dean all have basses in your range that would be very worthy backups as well. Since your range includes it, some MIA Fenders may be to your liking.
