im i the process of learning guitar, and i have a lesson next tuesday, and what im gonna start doing is alternating between bringing my guitar and my bass. However, after my last lesson was when i started, and i didnt mention to my teach that i want to learn guitar. Im wondering if it would be a bad idea for me to just show up with my acoustic, or if i should wait until next lesson to tell him and then wait until the week after?

    Hmmmm ... that's a tough one.

  3. Bring both, then explain your interest and let him decide. Worst case, he'll say that he's not ready to start the guitar until the next week and then you have your regular lesson and leave with everyone happy. ;)

Why don't you call him up before your next lesson and let him know, so he can prepare something relevant to the instrument you're going to bring? Otherwise, you can't blame him for an unproductive lesson.

the problem with that is that its at a music store, and the place is full of guitar teachers and hes the only bassist among them, so im not sure if he ever teaches guitar. Im gonna try it anyways though

  6. If you don't get hold of him, then bring the bass. Find out at the lesson if he also does guitar and work out a schedule at that point. Don't just bring it in unannounced. Not fair to him.

don't bring along the guitar, you sought him out to teach your bass and I'd talk it through first before bringing a guitar
