BadAss II Problem

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by bamaky1, Jun 21, 2008.

  1. I put BadassII's on my J and P bass. I was wondering if anyone else had intonation problems. When I play higher up on the fretboard, the notes tend to come out noticeably sharper than usual. Any tips/info? Thanks

It shouldn't be a problem. Just take it to someone that knows how to do a good setup.

I've got a Badass II on my P and it set up just fine, so set your intonation.

Edited to add: If when it's fretted, it's sharp, you want to essentially lengthen the string to lower the tone, so you move the saddle away from the headstock(so you tighten the screw). Hook it up to a tuner and adjust it so it matches the open note at the 12th fret. You'll have to adjust the string's tuning during the process since you're changing the pitch of the entire string. Ulitmately I end up tuning the intonation by ear once I'm close on the tuner.

    Hope that helps.
