Hi, It's almosted finished...my "Baked Beans"... I found 2 $4 dual-transistor amplifiers at the local Dick Smith, I stuck it on my customised Baxandall Tone Stack, put it in a Heinz Baked Bean can...and it's done... basically it's a 9V powered unit setup INPUT --> Amp 1 ---> Baxandall ---> Amp 2 ---> OUTPUT that Baxandall tone stack is very powerful...I have it set up with the low at 40Hz and the High at 4KHz... I can get screaching highs, and pumpin' lows...there's a limited range of good tones, but this thing can be quite useful... the gain is HOT ....really hot...I have to leave my vol knobs turned way down on my bass or this thing will just sound SILLY loud! Best of all it all fits in a Bean Can...
how much you want for it? personally i'd toss in a power supply and a footswitch, but that's hellacool
thanks guys... I was looking for a metal container to put the thing into and the beans just popped into my head the preamps were kits, but are simple circuits...and the baxandall is also a basic bax that I worked through with the duncan amplifier software... I'll see if I can put together some schematics and post it for you all... there's limitless possibilities for modification, as you can do things like add a volume pot, a distortion clipping circuit...the world is your can of beans...
bump... I'm thinking that for my next project, a distortion pedal, I should go with a pineapple can? what d'ya think? I'm staying away from canned milk for those who are lactose intolerent...
