We are going on tour for 6-8 weeks, then possibly 9 of the 12 months 2004. We are thinking motorhome, 21ft. Much easier to ride around the country in right? Or would a van-trailer combo be more practical. Plz help before we waste our ten grand!!!!!!

21 foot motorhome for ten grand, one that won't bust down and cost you another ten grand within the month? No offense, but BWWWAAAAHHAAAAAHAAAHAAAA!!!!

Seriously, if you've got ten grand, get yourself a locking box trailer and as reliable a van as you can for the remainder of your ten grand. Be sure to have about three grand left over for replacement transmission and other repairs that will crop up.

With meager dough like that, focus on reliability and not sleeping luxury. Believe me, you won't get any sleep with the van in the shop as you scramble to find a way to your next venue on time . . .

They are probably going to rent the motorhome..

Which sounds like a pretty good plan, considering it's a long tour. Decent sleeping quarters with toilet and kitchen.

I've seen a number of bands on long tours in full sized extension vans and a locking box trailer. No windows in the back of the van for security, and a platform up high in back for sleeping while the gear goes underneath. Be sure to keep your tee shirts and CDs where you can get to them!
