I had these up a while back, some nibbles, no bites. So here's the same ad again that didn't work last time. I'm open to offers.

This is a pair of Joe Barden prototypes made for Sadowsky. Split coil humbuckers.

I emailed Roger to ask about these and he replied

"Joe Barden made these for me to listen too many years ago.
I have no recollection of how I liked them.
These are not the pickups we use.

    Best regards,

    Roger Sadowsky"

Could you ask for a more glowing revue? But that's their history.

They come with Sadowsky covers but I think that's just what Roger threw them in to test them. They sound good but not great to me, I like a pickup with much more of it's own character. If I was prone to hyperbole I would say they don't color the true sound of your bass but they're just smooth and a bit too flat to my ears.

They're quiet, with a pretty nice p-bass tone in the neck position and they're one of a kind. I played them for about a year and a half.

    Ooops! Links fixed.

I wouldn't mind a trade, not sure what for but feel free to try something. Got any more Marcus DVD's? These are some of the pickups that lived in the covers I sent you :)
