Barrel Jack with 4 prongs?

I purchased a barrel jack from Carvin (for a non-carvin bass) and am just getting around to installing it, and I see that it has 4 prongs on it. I opened up the cavity of my Carvin Icon to see how it was wired, and the jack in the Icon is a 3-prong.

Any ideas on how to wire this up?

Do you have a multimeter? I had the same problem (I only had three prongs to worry about).

I took the plug, connected a patch lead to it, then used the meter to find out which prong was affiliated with the sleive and the tip of the jack. Presumably one prong will be tied into the switching mechanism for the preamp.

I can try that when I get home - thanks!
