I recently want to change the pu of my american standard Jazz.
Mine is ash body with maple fret board.
The origional one i think its not solid enough,
and i try my frds one with rosewood fret board with bart J pu, sound is so soild, so i consider to have a change on that.
But on my friend's bass, the slap sound is not bright enough,
since hiss bass is the rosewood one.

do any one here using bart J with maple fret board?
I want to know how the sound is before i change it~ thanks

Generally, Bartolini J's has a darker sound, nice lows and mid lows (growl), the highs could be more open up.
I like the Barts a lot! But get single coil, they have more bite and growl. (9CBJS)
I think Barts and maple fretboard is very good combination.
