bart triple coil vs. dual

    whats the difference in sound for the MM?

    i need something bassy

    In the triple coil, the third coil is a dummy (doesn't make any sound) only used to cancel hum when you switch it to single-coil mode.

    Single-coil mode will give you less low-mids than humbucking, so depending on what you mean by bassy, it might be or not be the thing you're looking for. I'd think that probably humbucking in parallel mode would work best for something fat sounding.
