    Yo!
I want to change my standard ibanez DFR picups in my BTB405.
I already changed the standard electronic to Noll TCM3P.
The main problem is that the ibanez picups are quite long and for the example the EMG 40DC will don't fit because they are nearly 1cm shorter than DFR...so I decided to look on Bartolini...
When I searched the internet I match only the M5 picups.
    Has anybody used this picups?
Do you think that this change will be usefull?
Alternatively what others picups would you recommended?

    Link to that picups:

I'm playing funk, pop, soul stuff.

    Thanks for any help :bassist:

    FWIW:

Ideally you want pups that drop in but if the pup is too small you could lay a pickgaurd down or possibly fashion a surround that is esthetically appealing. Also noticed that Bart is the same size as an EMG. Strings, rig, acoustic properties of the bass are also factors to consider so just depends. On smaller pups I would keep in mind strings being within the magnetic field.

Checking out pup reviews or knowing the pups in a bass that puts out tone you want is the best way I know to narrow the selection process - aside from what fits in your bass (unless you want to rout of course).
