I've tried a lot of P pickups, including the SD Antiquity, Quarter-Pounder, Hot for P-Bass, stock American Standard pickups and EMG-P, but I haven't tried the Bart.

Can anyone give me an idea what it sounds like? I'm not looking for descriptions like "this thing kicks ass," or "it's the best", or something like that, but qualitative stuff, maybe based on the pickups I've tried already. In other words, what about clarity, bottom, mid, and top, "thump" factor and so on.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I've used this a couple of times. Here's my impression:
Higher output than a standard Fender pickup
    Beautiful warm lows and mids
    Highs that don't get tinny
    Very clear and distinct notes

If I had to give a tonal comparison, I think John Wetton's King Crimson era tone is a good example - Powerful, punchy and boomy without the mush.

    Thanks, gweimer.

    Anyone else?

I have the 8S in a MIM Fender P with flatwounds. I'd describe the Bart as powerful, warm, and well defined. A very good pickup.
