    Anyone have any experience with Bartolini's Active pickups? The difference in price, even with their tone module, is very little over the passive styles, making it an attractive alternative to adding the usual cavity Bart preamp.

    I have Active Bartolini mk-1 pickup's in my bass and love them.
    The tonal range is excellent, and they are virtually noiseless. The only down point would be that if your looking for a thumpy, boomy pickup you'd be better off with something else.
    But the range is great, and they sound very bright and clean.

    I am a fan of Lane Poor pickups; have three basses with them. If they were available, that's what I'd use, but it seems like Bart may be the best substitute. I use Bart preamps with my LPs.
