Anyone of you have tried (or had) 9J#1 or 9K#1 or 9SU ??
what do you think of them ???
    how do they sound ??

I'm looking for a bright, round and punchier sound, what should i use ???

do they fit to MIM jazz ??

    thanks :)

  3. The 9J's are nice pups, but remember that whichever ones you use, they really need to be driving an active preamp. Bartolinis only seem to shine when used in an active cicuit, regardless of whether they are active or passive pups.

I have Bart 9J in bridge position on my Rick Turner. I like the sound of it, but IMO, it is not all that punchy. As Marty said, I think it would really benefit from a preamp.

I put 9J's in my '97 Fender Jazz and the difference over the stock pickups was extremely postive. The output wasn't improved much but they have a nice smooth tone, especially on the bottom. The comments about active circuitry have merit though. I'm not a big fan of active but it would sure boost the punch. But then any pickup boosted with active circuitry will have more punch..Bartolini or otherwise.
