I need info about the difference in the sound of the Bartolini 18v band preamp and the new aguilar 3Band on board preamp.
I am about to buy a 6 string roscoe bass that has the aguilar. It sounded good when I tried it but I have actually never played a Roscoe with the Bartolini 18v.
So what is the main diference in the sound? I thought aguilar was brighter so I wanted a Bartolini preamp in the first place but that bass sounded fine with the aguilar. Keith roscoe offered me to replace the preamp free of charge if I wanted to.
Please some info from people that really know both on board preamps.
    thanks

My Roscoe LG-3005 has the Bartolini NTMB 18v Pre in it and i am yet to hear a better sounding bass. Im sure the Aguilar is a top sounding pre amp (I have tried their out board 2 band). If the Aguilar pre sounds good to you then go for it. You can always upgrade it later if you feel the need to.
