so the bartolini push/pull looks like a 250k trimpot with a small stainless steel box attached to the butt of it. however it's just tall enough that it doesn't fit in the electronics cavity. i suppose i could mount it on the butt of the guitar near the cable jack, or just replace it with a standard trimpot.

    ideas?

    thanks

  2. I've never heard of push/pull trimmers.

Do you have a picture of it?

The plate is just thick enough for the pot arm to fit through and catch a washer and a nut. No, I can't remove anymore wood. I'll just replace it with a new pot and save it for another project.

I thought trimpot was just the proper name for pots. What's the difference?

    Thanks

So if I just ditch the push pull pot and throw in a normal 250k pot, will the amp run in passive, or will it default to active? Anything I should know or consider before going ahead?

    Thanks

You can just use a normal volume pot and add a 2 way mini switch to replace the switch part.
