well, I just completed my first working instrument.

The craftsmanship is very bad, but that's because it was a project for my 3D art class, and had to be completed in a very very short amount of time. All I used were a washtub from wal-mart, a piece of oak hand railing from home depot, and a bunch of hardware from the local hardware store. It has only 3 strings, but that's because I didn't feel like buying a new set of strings, so I instead took one of my old sets that was missing a G, and built the bass around them.

Ok, it may be crappy, but it's a hell of a lot of fun to play around with, seeing that it is fretless AND acoustic. it has a very uprighty, but metallic sound to it.

Everyone who sees this thing loves it, so I'm thinking about starting a business making these for people, better quality ones of course. I already have a request for a 4 string bass and a guitar, and I have a bunch of other ideas in my head.

and here it is. I'll be bringin it to the New England TB get together, along with any others I may have completed, so you'll get to see it first hand.

I wonder what Wishy's first *ahem* playable instrument looked like..

suggestions? I don't know anything about bluegrass, but I have been playing sort of indian inspired improvish things on it....so I'm not sure what I might call it....
