I’m new here and to bass (but not guitar) and could use some insight! Looking for a small amp for home practice. Was pretty set on a Rumble 40 for its features, price and reviews (although local GC had super clean Rumble 100 for $139... but ear splitter), until Acoustic B30 started showing up in reviews. $50 cheaper and 12” vs. 10” speaker. Yeah, and 10lbs heavier! They’re discontinued but still in stock around town. Would really appreciate any thoughts on the better one. At this price, does the speaker and watts really matter? I’m not intent on gigging out; just playing, creating and maybe a jam or two. For now, learning and practicing. Thanks! Gerard, Florida

  2. i have the Rumble 40 for home practice and its great. Super light too. I play out with a Rumble 100, but at 139 for a clean one...I would snap up the R100 used. It still sounds good at low volume.

    And welcome.

Ok! I’ll head back for the 100 and try it again as you recommend. G

i'd also recommend the rumble 100. after all, you can turn it down for home practice, but you can also turn it up for jamming as long as any drummers/guitar players use a little restraint. also the rumble 100 has an effects loop, which i've found is quite a cool thing to have.
