Just thought that i'd post this in case anyone wants to be able to have a variable control for adjusting the mids scoop from 'stock' to having flat mids in an EHX bass big muff. since it uses SMD components you have to be careful but it wasn't really difficult at all. IMO, this mod, along with the master volume mod posted elsewhere in this forum make the pedal 100X better.

Bumping this as it didn't look like it got much attention last time. Having just tried out a COG Grand Tarkin today (great pedal), I want the same mids knob on my BBM so am gonna order the parts today!

I just finished the master volume mod on mine and really like it. I would like more mids but I don't really want another pot. Is there a way to just have a switch for flat mids?
Thanks to all you guys and especially Mr. Kallas for sharing your knowledge and letting electronics noobs like me get started.

Finally got around to doing this mod and WOW!!! With the master volume mod and this, I love this pedal. I was on the fence about keeping it for a while but now I'd have to spend three times as much to get a muff this good. Thanks John!!

Hey John (or other knowledgable folk), could you explain what you're adding here? Is it basically this idea?: AMZ Presence Control

Any comments on doing this vs changing RC values to create a flatter tilt control, which would avoid adding another pot?

    Thanks!

Did you remove the circuit board to do this mod?

Sound clips would be great if you get the time John ... (please).
I am intrigued, it looks quite simple to do.

Are we in agreement that this is the best mids mod? I have an old civil war muff (diy not ehx) that I’m calling back into service.

also, what does the master volume mod do?

sorry for the necro bump, but would a 25K linear pot work for this? any disadvantages to the higher value pot? the 25k's seem to be a lot more available than mini 20K linear pots.
