Hey all...the fretless 5 I've had built for me is done, I'm just waiting for it to be delivered. And like a new mother, I can't wait to show 'er off. Here she is!

The bass is made by Ohio luthier Trey Combs, and features a zebrawood top, with wenge, purpleheart, and zebrawood neck streamers. The FB is macassar ebony, and the cover for the control cavity is a matching peice of wenge. It has bass-vari.mid.-treble EMG's, and an option for either strings through the body or not (Gotoh hardware).

I'll give you a review of the bass when I get it in a couple days! Yippie!

Man, that looks nice. What's the main wood for the body, as seen from the back?

Thanks guys...the wood on the back is wenge. I'll be getting the bass in a couple days, so I'll post a report about it then. Luthier Trey has commented on it's jaco-esque mwahhh....yippie!

    More later...

Not to rain on your parade, but I find it ugly looking. But if it sounds good who cares.
  12. Well I think it looks great. I'll bet it will play nice too. Congrats! :)

    SWEET! Nice bass.

I like the headstock design, original yet elegant.
